Crash Leaves Man And Woman In 80s Dead In College Point, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man and woman were killed late Monday in a crash in the parking lot of a BJ's Wholesale Club store in College Point, Queens.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the BJ's at 137-05 20th Ave. in Queens, police confirmed to CBS2.

Police said the 87-year-old man was trying to drive the 1989 Mercury out of the parking lot when he lost control, hit an unoccupied minivan, and finally hit a light pole.

The man and the 89-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The names of the victims had not been released late Tuesday.

The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
