Coyote Sighted Near LaGuardia Airport

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Another coyote has been spotted in New York City, this time near LaGuardia Airport, officials said.

The Port Authority, which runs the airport, says it was sighted in a marsh near 82nd Street and Ditmars Boulevard in Queens on Thursday morning.

The animal then darted into Elmjack Field, where authorities lost track of it.

It was the latest in a string of coyote sighting around the city.

In late April, another coyote was seen in Queens. It was tranquilized and captured by police.

That same month, another coyote was captured in Battery Park City. Officers had followed the coyote as she ran up and down a marina and a Hudson riverfront park for about an hour. They finally cornered her near a cafe with outdoor seating.

At least four other coyotes have been spotted in the city this year.
