Corrections Officer Charged In Fatal Bridgeport Hit-And-Run

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A corrections officer has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in Bridgeport last month.

Bridgeport police arrested Patricia Daniels on Wednesday, the Connecticut Post reported. It was not immediately known whether she has an attorney.

Evelyn Agyei, 51, of Bridgeport, was killed when the vehicle she was driving went off the road and hit a tree after being struck several times by a white BMW sport utility vehicle. Her 11-year-old son survived the Dec. 4 crash on Boston Avenue.

The corrections officer was previously questioned. State police found paint on Agyei's rear bumper that matched the paint on Daniels' front bumper, the Post reported.

Police said several witness tips led them to their suspect.
