Cops: Woman, 80, Injured During Strong-Arm Robbery In The West Village

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the pubic for help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a rough robbery that took place in the West Village.

At 5:20 a.m. on April 16, three men followed an 80-year-old woman on West 4th Street. One of the men grabbed the woman's purse causing her to fall to the ground, police said.

The suspects took off and the woman was treated at the scene for a minor knee injury, and released.

Shortly after the incident, police said a man was seen on surveillance video using the victim's credit card at a CVS Pharmacy on Eighth Avenue.

The suspect has been described as a black male. He was wearing all black with a grey hoodie.
