Cops: Robbery Suspect Arrested After Being Spotted At Train Station By Victim

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A woman who claims she was attacked and robbed by a livery cab driver on Long Island spotted her assailant in a train station and then alerted police, authorities said.

The 34-year-old driver was arrested Saturday night, five days after the alleged robbery, Nassau County police said. He's awaiting arraignment.

The woman took his cab early Monday after getting off a subway in Queens, police said. He pulled over in East Meadow, demanded her money, punched her in the face and tried to take her pocketbook, investigators said.

The 25-year-old woman fell from the car during the struggle and suffered minor injuries, police said. The cabbie drove off.

The alleged victim saw the driver Saturday at the Long Island Rail Road station in Jamaica, Queens, and summoned police, authorities said.
