Cops Investigate After Gun Reported On Rye Middle School Campus

RYE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Westchester County are investigating a possible gun scare at a middle school.

The principal at Rye Middle School was informed that a student brought a gun on campus in a backpack, the Rye City School District superintendent confirmed to CBS 2.

It reportedly happened after classes Friday.

The principal did not learn of the incident until Monday and called police.

The district said no one was threatened with the gun, and they don't believe the student ever took the gun out of the backpack.
