Connecticut Teen Reported Missing Found Safe

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - A 14-year-old Fairfield, Conn., boy who was reported missing last month has been found.

A passerby in a car noticed a boy hanging out on a stone wall on Burr Street and called Police Lt. Jim Perez, WCBS 880's Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau reported.

 

Perez said officers went to the scene and found the boy, who identified himself as Stom Sorrentino, who had been missing for several days and the subject of a nationwide search.

The boy has been turned over to Norwalk police in charge of the investigation, Perez said,

"At this point, we still don't know where he's been. I will tell you the location he's found is about 2.5-3 miles away from his mother's home," the lietenant said.

His mother, Kathryn Sorrentino, was ordered to jail by a judge who hoped to persuade the woman to tell authorities her son's location, but the woman insisted she didn't know and was released from jail.
