Emergency Crews Rescue Man From Water Off Coney Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Emergency crews braved frigid temperatures to rescue a man in the water off of Coney Island on Tuesday.

Just before 8 a.m., the FDNY responded to call about a man who jumped or fell off the pier and was reported to be drowning.

Rescue crews arrived minutes later and were able to help the man to nearby rocks until he could be safely brought to shore.

He was able to walk out of the water and was taken to Coney Island Hospital. His condition is unknown.
