Commuter Action Group Speaks Out About Lack Of Bathrooms At New Connecticut Rail Stations

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - The new train stations in Connecticut might impress passengers as they first walk in, but they won't have one thing: bathrooms.

Jim Cameron, of the Commuter Action Group, said this is not the way to convince new passengers to ride the rails.

"This is public money being spent to build a new rail line and it should make sure that they're giving commuters what they want, otherwise it will just be another excuse not to take the train," he told WCBS 880's Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau reported.

Cameron feels it will be a huge inconvenience, especially for passengers with young children in tow.

Connecticut Transportation Commissioner Jim Redeker has said riders can easily use bathrooms upon boarding the train, but as Cameron points out, trains have been known to arrive late to the stations.
