The windows of the second floor apartment were boarded up and the front door to 158 Mallory Avenue has a homicide unit's 'do not enter' sign taped to it.

Prosecutors are investigating the death of Michael Galdieri, 52, as a homicide, arson. Residents say it is not a reflection of what is described as a safe neighborhood.

"People do bad things everywhere and I just pray to God to keep my family safe and keep our neighborhood safe," one neighbor said.

Galdieri was found dead in Thursday night's fire. Investigators said that he was the victim of multiple stab wounds. There have been no arrests and a motive has yet to surface as residents look for a quick resolution.

"Hope for the better. That's all we can do right?" said one resident, "Say our prayers and hope for the better."
