Police: L.I. Woman Was Likely Intentionally Drowned; Son Charged With Murder

COLD SPRING HARBOR, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Suffolk County said a woman who was found dead outside her home in Cold Spring Harbor was likely intentionally drowned, and her son has been charged with her murder.

The body of Elizabeth Cullen, 63, was discovered by Lloyd Harbor police officers around 4 p.m. on Wednesday after they were sent to her house on White Hill Road in Cold Spring Harbor for a well-being check, police said.

Upon finding her body, Lloyd Harbor police contacted the Suffolk County police said.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a woman was found dead outside her Cold Spring Harbor home.

Homicide Squad detectives believe she was likely intentionally drowned, police said.

Early Thursday morning, police announced that the victim's son, Denis Cullen Jr., 23, had been arrested and charged with her murder.
