City Homeowners To See Lowest Water Rate Increase In 9 Years

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Homeowners in New York City will soon see the lowest water rate increase in 9 years.

The city water board approved a 3.35 percent hike, which was lower than expected.

The hike will cost the average multifamily unit an additional three dollars a month, CBS 2 reported.

Single-family homes will pay two dollars more.

Twenty-five percent of homeowners, most of them seniors, will see no rate increase.
