City Holds Emergency Preparedness Sessions

ALBANY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) - New York officials are holding two-hour emergency preparedness sessions around the state.

The Citizen Preparedness Corps Training sessions on Saturday will be led by the New York National Guard and are designed to prepare people for severe weather and other emergencies.

The ten sessions are being held at locations from Long Island to Buffalo. Details and registration information are available online at www.prepare.ny.gov . Families will receive a free emergency response starter kit and backpack after the course.
