VIDEO: Christie Releases Mock Movie Trailer 'No Pain, No Gain'

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is channeling Hollywood in his push for more cuts to state workers' benefits.

The governor's office released a trailer Tuesday for a fake summer blockbuster movie titled "No Pain. No Gain."

The trailer features clips of Christie warning of an impending budget crisis, along with dramatic music and sound effects. The clips are cut together with scenes of explosions, car chases and even a shot of action star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The one-minute, 22-second video includes starring credits for "Governor Christie," "The People of New Jersey," "The Rock" and "The NJ Legislature (Hopefully ...)." It claims the fake film is rated R for "reform."

The release comes ahead of the first of a series of summer town hall meetings at which Christie will discuss "the impending fiscal crisis the growing entitlements of pension, health benefits and debt services are causing."

A spokesman for Christie said the video was made in-house and is similar to others the office has produced.
