Elderly Woman, Caretaker Critically Injured In Chinatown Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - At least two people were hurt in a fire in Chinatown Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said an elderly woman and her caretaker were in critical condition from the blaze that broke out around noon.

Smoke and flames could be seen pouring out of the building at 113 Mott Street, near Hester Street.

The three-alarm fire was on the third and fourth floors of the building, and took over 150 firefighters to bring under control.

Fire marshalls remained on scene late Wednesday working to determine the cause. Members of the American Red Cross were helping assist displaced families.
