3-Year-Old Falls From Third Floor Window In Elizabeth, N.J.

ELIZABETH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A 3-year-old child fell out a third floor window in Elizabeth, New Jersey on Friday night.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Friday on Ripley Place.

The child's fall was broken by an awning, witnesses said.

Police said the 3-year-old was taken to University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in serious but stable condition.

The child is expected to survive.
