22 Animals Die In New Jersey Barn Fire

CHESTER, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A fast-moving barn fire killed nearly two dozen animals in Morris County on Sunday morning, authorities said.

Chester police say the fire broke out around 7:20 a.m. at a Pottersville Road site. It appears that a heat lamp sparked the blaze, but authorities say the investigation is ongoing.

NJ.com reported that three goats and 19 chickens were killed in the fire, which destroyed the barn and damaged part of a fence.

It wasn't clear if any people were in the barn when the fire began, but no injuries were reported.
