NYPD: Suspect Arrested After Man Pushed Onto Subway Tracks, Struck By Train In Chelsea

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly pushed another man onto the subway tracks in Chelsea as a train entered the station.

Newark resident Aaron Clary, 25, is charged with attempted manslaughter and assault, police said.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. Sunday at 18th Street and 7th Avenue stop. Police said a 54-year-old man was standing on the platform when he was pushed onto the tracks as a northbound 2 train approached, striking him.

The man was taken to the hospital after he was pulled out from under the conductor's car. He is expected to survive.
