Man Shot, Wounded In Chelsea

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was shot and wounded Tuesday evening in Chelsea, police said.

The man was struck in the leg in the shooting at Ninth Avenue and West 25th Street, near the Chelsea-Elliot Houses public housing development, police said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center was expected to survive, police said.

The motive in the shooting was not immediately learned.
