Police: Man Killed While Cutting Tree With Chain Saw In Rochester

GATES, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say a man is dead after he fell while trimming a tree with a chain saw.

It happened Tuesday afternoon in Rochester in the backyard of the 59-year-old man's home in the town of Gates.

Police say first responders found the man dead at the scene.

The man's name hasn't been released and authorities aren't saying exactly how he died. Town police Lt. John Ballard says the man suffered a head injury.

Police are investigating. Ballard says there are no signs of foul play.

A medical examiner will look at how the man died.

Ballard recommends those who need tree-cutting services to hire professionals.
