66-Year-Old Woman Mugged In Central Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a group of teens who they said beat and robbed a 66-year-old woman in Central Park.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at 65th Street near Center Drive.

The victim walked by the four teen boys, who were sitting on bench, when they allegedly came up behind her, pushed her to the ground, took her purse and fled, CBS2 reported.

The victim had minor injuries, but refused treatment.

The suspects, who police say are 15 and 16 years old, remain at large, 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported.

The incident follows two separate robberies in the park that happened just days apart last week.

On Thursday, police said a 47-year-old man was walking along Center Drive near 66th Street when he was approached by two males, believed to be teenagers. Authorities said they pushed the man to the ground, grabbed his wallet and cell phone from his jacket pocket and then ran off toward 72nd Street.

Two days earlier, police said a 43-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint on 81st Street and Transverse around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Sources told CBS2 the suspect choked the victim from behind while threatening to cut his face if the victim didn't give something over, telling the man he didn't care if he went back to jail.

It is unclear if the incidents are connected.
