NYPD: Suspect Tries To Rob Man At Knifepoint In Central Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released a sketch of a man they said tried to rob another man at knifepoint in Central Park.

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon at East Drive and East 109 Street.

According to the NYPD, a 31-year-old man told police he was sitting on a tree log counting his money when the suspect came up to him with a knife and said, "Let me get that!"

The victim shouted at the suspect who then ran off empty-handed, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 30 years old, 6' tall, weighing 180 pounds, wearing a baseball hat, black shorts, a white shirt and white sneakers, according to police.
