Local Celebrity Chef Accused Of Recording, Distributing Explicit Videos Of Teens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A celebrity chef and restaurateur has been arrested on child pornography charges, the FBI said Thursday.

Matthew Tivy is the owner of Café du Soleil, at 2723 Broadway on the Upper West Side. He has also appeared on the Food Network, the FBI said.

Authorities said Tivy allegedly distributed explicit photos and videos of at least five teens from New Jersey, Florida, and Ohio.

The FBI alleged Tivy met the teens on the app Grindr, and had them record the explicit videos that he then passed on to others.

Tivy was arrested Thursday morning at his Morningside Heights home, the FBI said.

He was to be arraigned in U.S. District Court.
