Massey's husband said he heard gunshots around 8:30 a.m. and found his wife shot in the hallway of their building on the Horace Harding Expressway, sources told CBS2.

Massey had been shot in the chest and arm, police said. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Sources told CBS2 Massey was 25 weeks pregnant. Doctors were able to deliver the baby, but the infant later died, hospital officials said.

"That's awful. It's really distressing," one neighbor told WCBS 880's Peter Haskell.

So far, no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
