CBS2 5/30 Memorial Day Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning, everyone! After two days of gorgeous summer-like weather for the Memorial Day weekend, we're waking up to a soaking rain out there for many. Southerly flow ahead of a cold front pushing in from the west is helping to draw up tropical moisture from what's left of Bonnie, sending the downpours over our region.

We're looking at anywhere from 0.5-1.5" of rain with temps hanging in the low and mid 70s, much cooler compared to the past few days! The heaviest will be during the morning hours and we're looking for some breaks as we head toward the late afternoon and evening. It won't be completely dry, but it'll be more on/off rain by then.

It clears out heading into Tuesday with plenty of sun and temps back into the 80s. The nice weather looks to continue through Thursday before our next chance of showers arrives. Temps will be back into the 70s to end the week.

Despite the soggy start, let's not let it stop us from honoring the true meaning of Memorial Day. Have a great day and nice holiday!
