CBS 2 Gets A Glimpse At Next Year's Hottest Trends To Hit Your Feet

(CBSNewYork) -- Just figuring out this summer's shoe trends? Well how about an inside scoop into next year's styles?

CBS 2's Alice Gainer got a sneak peek at the New York Shoe Expo where they showcased the upcoming hottest trends to hit your feet.

"Right now, they're showcasing Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter 2015," Vice President of the Fashion Footwear Association of New York Phyllis Rein said.

"This laser trend is very popular right now, and then you'll also see it done in metallics in ballet flats," Amy Dox said, vice president of sales for Gerry Weber.

The German clothing brand is launching its footwear collection for the first time.

The same goes for 26-year-old designer Alexander White whose 28-piece collection is his first solo effort.

"The whole collection is based around the idea of a woman who is heartbroken and she runs away and she goes on holiday and she starts exploring. It's inspired by the things she sees," White said.

With more than 300 vendors representing over 800 footwear brands, there's truly something for everyone.

But if you're one of those people who doesn't care about what's hot and says leave the trendy gladiator shoes in the coliseum, the expo has some classics for you.

One of the vendors, Lotus Shoes, is the oldest shoe company in Europe. The company has been in existence since 1759 and re-launched its brand in the United States 50 years ago.

The expo is only open to those in the trade and many of the shoes have not yet been produced.
