Man Knocked Unconscious In Bronx Random Attack Speaks Out: 'It Feels Almost As If There's A Hole In My Head'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A vicious attack was caught on camera in the Bronx.
Police are looking for the suspect who randomly punched a man on a busy sidewalk.
CBS2's Nick Caloway spoke to the victim.
The attacker is seen on surveillance video walking down East Burnside Avenue near Jerome Avenue in Mount Hope at 11:45 a.m. Monday. He approaches a 62-year-old man and punches him in the face.
The victim, Jorge Martinez, was knocked to the ground, unconscious.
Speaking through a translator, he told Caloway "I really don't remember anything."
"My head and the side of my jaw hurt. My head felt like it was going to explode," he added.
Martinez told Caloway he doesn't recognize the man who viciously attacked him, and he doesn't know why.
The suspect in that assault got on an eastbound bus and left.
Police are hoping someone recognizes the man, and turns him in.
"I still feel a lot of pain in my head. It feels almost as if there's a hole in my head," Martinez said.
Martinez works two jobs and doesn't have insurance. His wife Maria knows the hospital bill will come one day, but she doesn't know how they will pay it.
