Caught On Video: Alleged Police Impersonators Carjack Vehicle In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD wants your help finding a crew of alleged police impersonators that stole a vehicle in the Bronx this June.

The carjacking took place on the night of June 20 at West 172nd Street and Shakespeare Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. That's when five men drove up with bogus police lights flashing and pulled over a car, police said.

The driver of the car they stopped was approached by five men who claimed to be police officers, according to the NYPD. They were wearing shields around their necks and had baseball caps on.

When the driver of the car they stopped got out, the five got into both vehicles and drove off.
