Car Jumps Curb, Strikes 2 Pedestrians On Lower East Side

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon when a car jumped a curb and went onto the sidewalk on the Lower East Side.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at Allen Street off Grand Street, officials told CBS 2.

Two pedestrians were struck, officials said. One suffered serious injuries, while another was slightly injured.

Their exact conditions were not immediately learned.

Reports indicated that the vehicle also struck the window of a store.

There was no word early Tuesday evening on what caused the accident.
