Minivan Driver Facing Charges After Crashing Into School Bus, Several Students Injured

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Charges are pending against a driver after a mini-van that crashed into a school bus in the Bronx Saturday around 7:30 a.m., sending over a dozen students to the hospital.

The crash involving multiple vehicles happened on Fulton Avenue and Claremont Parkway.

Police said there were 17 students on the bus and one driver, and one driver in the other vehicle.

"The school bus, it like crashed into a car that was parked, and it hit it into a tree, and then that car hit another car... it was like four cars," witness Rashaad Harune said.

The FNDY says the students were transported to Lebanon Hospital with minor injuries, and are listed in stable condition.

Police say the driver of the mini-van was driving without a license, and the vehicle was not registered.
