Car Crashes Into Auto Collision Shop On Long Island

DEER PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- No one was hurt when a car came crashing into an auto collision shop on Long Island early Monday morning.

The crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. on Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park.

The green Toyota Camry crashed through a fence and then smashed into Best Way Auto Collision.

Owner Ibrahim Duman told 1010 WINS he is happy the store was empty at the time of the crash.

"Thank God nobody got hurt, nobody got killed," Duman said. "I'd rather see the office broken instead of seeing a dead body on the street."

Duman said he believes the driver was learning how to drive but lost control of the vehicle before crashing into his building,

"They destroyed the complete office, 100 percent," he said.

There was no apparent criminality, police told Newsday.
