Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Canarsie, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed in Canarsie, Brooklyn Monday, police said.

The victim was in the area of East 99th Street and Foster Avenue upon being struck, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver remained at the scene and the Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.

A New York Daily News report said the victim of the accident was a woman and she was struck by a box truck backing out of a driveway.
