Sources To CBS2: Rapper Busta Rhymes Arrested At Chelsea Gym

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Rapper Busta Rhymes was arrested on assault allegations Wednesday night at a Chelsea gym, sources told CBS2.

The 43-year-old rapper and actor, whose given name is Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., was arrested around 8:30 p.m. at the Steel Gym at 143 W. 23rd St., sources said.

Sources said Busta Rhymes got into a fight with a fellow gym goer, and allegedly threw a container of Lean Body Protein drinks at the victim.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene, sources said.

Busta Rhymes was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Uniondale, Long Island.
