Employees At Buffalo Starbucks Vote In Favor Of Union

BUFFALO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Starbucks workers at a store in upstate New York have voted to join a union.

The National Labor Relations Board says that workers voted 19 to 8 in favor of a union at one of three stores in Buffalo.

Starbucks has actively fought unionization at its United States stores for decades. Labor experts say this push by workers to organize could have a ripple effect.

Retailers have drawn criticism for issues including low pay and unfair scheduling.
