Buddhist Group Protests Dalai Lama's NYC Visit

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Dalai Lama is in New York, but not everyone is happy with his holiness being here.

Hundreds of people from the Shugden Buddhist community protested the Dalai Lama's visit on Tuesday at 74th Street and Broadway, just outside the Beacon Theater, CBS2 reported.

The group is upset about prayers his holiness has banned and discrimination against their practitioners.

The Dalai Lama has been in the city sharing Buddhist teachings for the last few days.
