2 Women Shot, Wounded In Flatbush-Ditmas Park, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two women were shot and wounded Tuesday evening in Flatbush-Ditmas Park, Brooklyn – just south of Prospect Park.

The shooting happened at 5:14 p.m. at 45 Parade Pl., at the intersection with Crooke Avenue, police said.

One woman was shot in the leg, the other in the shoulder, police said.

Both women were taken to Kings County Hospital Center, and their conditions were reported to be stable, police said. They were expected to survive.

The area where the women were shot was just outside Detective Dillon Stewart Park, named after a police officer who was shot and killed in nearby East Flatbush, police sources told CBS2.

Police said two suspects fled the scene on bicycles, WCBS 880 reported.

One suspect was taken into custody after being found about a mile north near Prospect Park on a bicycle, police sources said. Other suspects may be wanted.
