Police Search For Suspects Caught On Video Attacking Brooklyn Woman
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for two suspects who were caught on video allegedly attacking a woman in Brooklyn on Dec. 27.
Surveillance video shows the two men throw the 45-year-old woman to the ground on Bleecker Street before stealing her bag with $600 inside, CBS2's Meg Baker reported. The men then ran off towards Irving Avenue.
According to police, the suspects also grabbed the woman by the neck, looking to rip off any jewelry she might have been wearing.
A neighbor of the victim said the woman was shaken, but unharmed.
Miguel, who lives in the neighborhood, told Baker that he's always careful in this neighborhood.
"A couple weeks ago shooting right here on Knickerbocker Avenue, just got to be careful," he said.
Colin Mallory lives a few doors away from where the woman was robbed, and noted the frequent presence of NYPD.
"With the police presence you would think it wouldn't be happening," Mallory said.
Police describe the suspects as in their 20s and approximately 5'5" tall. According to police, one suspect was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and black sneakers.
The other attacker has long hair, and was last seen wearing colored sweatpants with a logo on the front, a baseball cap, black sweatpants and white sneakers.
