Brooklyn Warehouse Fire Resulted In Major Loss Of Court Records

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- There was a major loss of court records during a warehouse fire in January.

The fire happened January 31, at a storage facility on the Brooklyn waterfront.

The building housed 85,000 boxes of records from mostly closed cases that dated back to 1940s.

Officials said the documents were rarely requested.

Some, though not all were scanned onto microfiche before the blaze.
