N.J. State Police: Body Found In Delaware River Is Tuber From Brooklyn

LOPATCONG, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New Jersey State Police on Sunday said a body found in the Delaware River was that of a Brooklyn man who went missing while tubing with friends.

Divers found the body of Christopher Lawrence, 22, on Sunday, authorities said.

Lawrence had vanished after he fell off a tube around 5 p.m. Saturday.

The incident occurred in the area of Lopatcong and Harmony townships in northwestern New Jersey.

A search began a short time later, but was suspended later Saturday due to darkness and visibility issues.

A formal identification of the body will be made by the local medical examiner's office.
