3 Arrests In Connection With Fight At Brooklyn Supermarket

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fight at a supermarket ended with three arrests in Brooklyn last week.

The incident occurred last Thursday at the Central Market on Division Street in Williamsburg.

There are various accounts of how it all began, but it appears it all started when a young man came into the store on a hoverboard, 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reported. Some say he was knocking over displays, while others claim he got off the board, paid for groceries and left with his female friend.

Tensions escalated outside and fruit went flying, Papa reported.

One witness said the young woman was hit in the eye and she called her father, who came to the store, Papa reported.

"When the father of that person who got hurt came, he just went wild and came into the store," the witness said.

A video posted to Facebook shows the wild confrontation inside.

Witness Carlos Torres said the woman suffered a cut and he doesn't think it was fruit that caused the injury.

"I think it's a can because for a fruit to hit you, it's kind of impossible... they slit her eye, basically like a boxer," Torres said.

Two store managers and the father were arrested and charged with various degrees of assault.

One manager faces a felony charge for allegedly throwing a peach.
