NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There was a hole lot of trouble in Sunset Park, Brooklyn Tuesday.

Those who live in the area have access to their homes and kept their water and electricity, but gas was shut off to a few buildings while authorities fix the sinkhole.

By just before 11 p.m., National Grid had restored gas service to all customers.

"The garbage truck come first, that's when it started sinking more and more," said Maria Rodriguez.

No injuries have been reported, but neighbors said it's out of this world to see something like this on their street, Smith reported.

"I was out getting my lunch and figured, let me take a look...Like I said, the big one on 5th Avenue 6-8 months ago was something, now this," said Chris Conroy.

Traffic on 56th Street was shut down while crews attempt to repair the damage.

There was no word late Tuesday on what caused the sinkhole.
