Brooklyn Mother Accused Of Beating 2-Year-Old With Bamboo Stick

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Brooklyn mother has been arrested and charged for allegedly beating her 2-year-old so severely that he was hospitalized.

According to police, 27-year-old Yayun Weng brought her 2-year-old son to Maimonides Medical Center Thursday night, 1010 WINS reported.

Doctors called police after they saw the boy had bruises on over 90 percent of his body, the Daily News reported.

Police said Weng used a bamboo stick to beat the toddler, who is listed in critical condition.

Weng is charged with two counts of assault, causing injury of a person less than 11, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, 1010 WINS reported.
