Sources: Suspected Burglar Dead After Being Subdued At Brooklyn Car Service

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspected burglar is dead after he was allegedly subdued while threatening to stab people at a Brooklyn car service Sunday.

Just before 6 a.m., police were called to the Vision Car Service at 582 Bushwick Ave. in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.

Sources said the suspect was in the process of breaking into the car service when he was apparently caught in the act, sources told CBS2. He threatened the people inside and turned to stab them, sources said.

At that point, people inside the car service subdued the man and he died afterward, sources said.

The New York City Medical Examiner's office will determine the cause of the 39-year-old man's death, but it appears he was asphyxiated, sources said.

The man's identity has not been released.
