Several injured in multi-vehicle crash on Brooklyn Bridge

1 man critically hurt in Brooklyn Bridge crash, lanes back open

NEW YORK -- One person was critically injured in a multi-car crash on the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 3 p.m. in the Brooklyn-bound lanes.

Lanes to Brooklyn were shut down for several hours, and traffic was backed up all the way to the on-ramps in Lower Manhattan.

All lanes were back open around 7:15 p.m.

A 30-year-old man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries. He is expected to survive.

Police say six other people were treated on the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
