French Tourist Arrested For Climbing Onto Brooklyn Bridge

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - An apparent selfie-seeker was arrested Friday for climing onto the Brooklyn Bridge.

A 24-year-old French tourist was picked up after climbing on the beams that go over the roadway on the bridge to take pictures, police said.

The man faces trespassing charges.

Officials previously installed special protective barriers on the bridge after a series of incidents involving climbers taking selfies or replacing the flags atop the bridge.
