Police Identify Suspect In Tire Iron Attack On Woman In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Thursday identified a suspect in the brutal beating of a woman with a tire iron in the Bronx last month.

Gloribels Serrano, who is believed to be 26, is described as being Hispanic and about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with brown eyes and black hair. Police have released a photo of Serrano.

Police suspect Serrano is the one who struck a 35-year-old woman in the head with a tire iron near Marion Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard, in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx, around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12.

The victim was treated and released from an area hospital, police said.

Police have not speculated on the motive for the attack.
