Police: Man Slashed At 2, 5 Train Subway Station In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Despite increased patrols by the NYPD, another slashing on the subway is being investigated in the Bronx.

Police said a dispute between the 32-year-old male victim and two other men turned violent in the stairwell of the No. 2 and 5 lines at Boston Post Road and East Tremont.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the victim was slashed in the face and then the two suspects took off. There is no word on the condition of the victim.

"It's really crazy, you know it makes people feel very unsettled, very unsafe," one woman told CBS2's Dick Brennan.

This is just the latest in a string of slashing incidents on the city's subways.

Police are also looking for a distinctly red-haired suspect they believe is behind two slashing incidents this week.

In response to the attacks, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton deployed more patrols to the subways, but also asked New Yorkers to stop sleeping while riding trains.
