NYPD: Teen Says Man Pretended To Be Police Officer, Demanded Sex

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 18-year-old woman had a disturbing encounter at a Bronx subway station with a man pretending to be a police officer, police said.

The teen told police the suspect stopped her around 7:40 p.m. on Aug. 30 at a subway station at Westchester Avenue and Grant Circle.

Police said the man told her he was a cop and then accused her of illegally entering the subway system. The suspect said was going to issue her a summons, but that he'd let her go without a ticket in exchange for a sexual favor, police said.

The victim refused and then ran away.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, visit the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
