Man Armed With Scissors Dead After Being Stunned By Police Taser In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An emotionally disturbed man is dead after police used a Taser on him in the Bronx Monday, the NYPD said.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call shortly after 8 a.m. Monday at 2263 Loring Pl. North in the University Heights section of the Bronx, police said.

The 51-year-old man was armed with a pair of scissors at the time, police said.

Police said he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy by the New York City Medical Examiner's office is to determine the exact cause of death.
