Police: Woman Breaks Wrist When Bronx Muggers Strike From Behind

Updated Sunday, Oct. 11 9:42 a.m.

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for three men who attacked a woman in the Bronx.

The suspects approached the 60-year-old woman from behind and put her in a choke hold.

It happened just before 3 a.m. on Saturday in the Longwood section. They tried to get the woman's purse, but she fought back and ran away.

One of the suspects chased and kicked her in the legs causing her to fall and break her wrist.

The suspects then ran off empty handed.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where she was treated and released.

Suveillance cameras captured the three suspects and the attempted mugging, CBS2's Ilana Gold reported.

"It's scary," neighborhood resident Theodora Brooks said. "I don't care how late a person is out -- man, woman, child, dog, cat, mouse. No one has the right to be abusive to one another. No one has the right to attack anyone. I'm so sorry. I'm so sad to hear this."

Investigators say they never said a word to the woman.
